Program framework
Our kindergarten programs have been created to deliver on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia – Belonging, Being & Becoming.
At Glenroy West Kindergarten we understand that each child is unique in their learning and development. Therefore, our kindergarten program is developed on the careful observations and evaluation of children.
We believe partnerships with families are essential to establishing positive outcomes for children. We welcome and encourage parents to attend and participate in program sessions, it’s a great opportunity to be part of your child’s kindergarten experience.
A day at Glenroy West Kindergarten
At Glenroy West Kindergarten our programs provide an opportunity for children to initiate and direct their own learning through play based activities within a structured daily routine.
Our programs offer a combination of indoor play and art activities followed by teacher led group time where children are encouraged to listen to stories and participate with singing rhymes and songs. Our mealtimes are a social activity where we sit down together and encourage healthy eating habits and conversation.
Next, we venture outdoors where children can choose from a variety of exciting activities including playing in the garden, digging in the sandpit, developing their skills on the climbing equipment or sailing the seas on our purpose built pirate ship.
Together we wrap up our session with a final group time where we explore another story and enjoy a few more interactive songs.
