Parent Committee

Glenroy West Kindergarten is an independently managed community kindergarten. It is run by a Committee of Management which consists of a group of volunteer parents whose children attend the kindergarten.

The Committee of Management work closely with the teaching staff who are responsible for the day to day running of the kindergarten and the delivery of quality educational programs.

The Committee of Management is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in November each year. Committee meetings are held monthly.

We encourage parents who are keen to actively contribute to be involved. Previous experience is not required, just plenty of enthusiasm.

Being part of the committee offers an opportunity for individuals to volunteer in their local community, build new relationships, demonstrate skills and play an active role in their child’s learning.

Parent involvement in our committee means we can keep kindergarten costs low and ensures we meet the needs of our families now and in the future. It also enables us to proudly preserve the sense of community we have created at Glenroy West Kindergarten.

*We use the services of an external Bookkeeper who specialise in early childhood administration.

Glenroy West Kindergarten hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Parent Information evening in November each year. This is an important evening in our event calendar where you will hear about the year’s achievements and learn about the operational side of our community run kindergarten.

This is a wonderful occasion for new families to meet current families and our educational staff. It’s also an opportunity for parents to elect to become part of the new Committee of Management.
