Philosophy and values
Glenroy West Kindergarten provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment which supports our children’s development through play-based learning experiences.
Our structured programs provide the opportunity for children to build confidence, independence and respectful relationships. We lay the foundations for a positive approach to learning and are committed to the safety, happiness, inclusivity, participation and empowerment of all children.
Glenroy West Kindergarten is an independent parent led community kindergarten. We embrace the rich diversity of our families and encourage parent and community participation to enrich the learning environment for our children.
Learning outcomes
At Glenroy West Kindergarten our programs have been designed to reflect the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia – Belonging, Being & Becoming. We provide quality teaching and learning experiences to all children. We have a specific emphasis on play-based learning, and recognise the importance of communication and language to help further social and emotional development.
Our program conveys the highest expectations for all children. These expectations are communicated through the 5 learning and development outcomes identified using the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), outlined below.
